The Taoist sages of ancient China believed that negative emotions cause serious damage to the body, mind and spirit. It was understood that each human emotion is an expression of energy. Our organs are composed of energy and blockages can develop in organs as a result of negative energy.
Emotions are stored in the abdomen (gut) according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (that gut feeling). Working on the abdomen (belly) allows us to work directly on feelings in a most welcoming, gentle and compassionate way. Just as much as our brain, our entire abdomen is rich in neurons There are 100 million neurons in the abdomen which means there are more neurons there than in your spinal cord!
Negative emotions can fester in the organs and abdomen. Hence, the belly becomes the clearing house. Discouragement or enthusiasm, helplessness or pleasure, depression or fulfillment, these are all states of being that are closely aligned with the health of the abdomen. The Taoists knew that the abdomen contains the archives of all of our emotional life.
Chi Nei Tsang (CNT) is a way of clearing these unhealthy blockages which accumulate in the abdomen. The client rests comfortably on a Thai mat, clothed, and the practioner very precisely massages specific areas of the abdomen and internal organs.
I both received and became certified in northern Thailand in this art in early 2011. The profoundness of this practice was initially startling to me and the benefits continue and remain with me as I practice both professionally and personally.
Self massage is taught as part of each session and is strongly encouraged to empower one's Self.
The numerous beneficial effects of CNT are an incomparable source of well being, of relief and peace, of relaxation and healing.
Thank you for your interest. Please email or call me for further information.
